The heat today is suffocating. Breathing takes too much effort. Rivulets of sweat are rolling over me everywhere, streaming down the crack of my...damn, broke a glass. I call my place The Hammock in honor of my desire to lay around in one with some good rum or decent ganja (or both). Scrubbing a dingy glass with a rag, I look up to see them saunter in. They settle at a table in a dark corner near the front. A few small beams of dusty sunlight drift through the clean spot on the window. The rays light up the overflowing ashtray on the table, but that’s about all. The men’s faces, veiled by the shadows, don't reveal much, but I don't need to see them to know what type of men these are. They belong to a cartel, plain and (not so) simple. My few customers of the morning haul tail without paying, with two exceptions. No worries. All my drinks are well watered, so I didn’t lose much denaro.

If you want a book that doesn't drag on and on and on this is your book! It starts off fast and to the point and doesn't keep you waiting for more. Never mind authors who set up long hours of character dialogue that ends up nowhere, this book has plenty of action and one liners to satiate your adventurous spirit.
I haven't quite finished it yet but will be done soon. Really enjoying!!!

The book is well written and is reminiscent of the Mack Bolan series created by Don Pendleton back in the '80s. The characters and their back stories were captivating. It is a great book and very enjoyable for those thirsting for excitement.
